The bay that is created west of the Akrotiri fishing shelter is distinct due to the morphology of the coast, with its impressive dunes, as well as for the shipwreck located just 400 meters from the shore.

The wreck is located at a relatively shallow depth, which makes it ideal for free diving, as divers can easily reach it from the shore. The ship’s hull protrudes almost above the surface of the water, therefore care is needed when approaching it.

The waters in the bay are often choppy, so one must find a day when the sea is calm in order to visit the shipwreck. The summer months (July – August) are usually not suitable for diving. September and October however offer plenty of opportunities for a clear seabed and calm sea.
