A modern architectural gem is now hosted in the Limassol port, which will greet the public, providing the first impression of the city. A unique building, with supreme aesthetics and well thought function will soon open its doors.
The new Passenger Hall was completed in September 2016, it has an area of 10.000sq.m and construction cost of EUR 13.5 million. It consists of 7 shells, who, like huge portholes, frame the view of anchored cruise ships and harbor.
The numbering of the shells and the transition from one shell to the next via the connecting sites whose topography and the alternation from light to dark color , signal the exit from 1 shell and entering another, offering ongoing guidance to the user who knows at any time the location in the building.
Shells 01, 02 and 03 house the arrival halls, customs, immigration and police departments. Shell 04 on the ground floor serves for the luggage collection and transport to the cruise ships, while the first floor houses a restaurant which is open to the public all year round. On the restaurant's roof top there has been designed a platform with bar (skybar) with uninterrupted panoramic view of the Limassol city, the port and the Mediterranean.
Shell 05 houses the reception area of the departures hall and includes 1 café and travel agencies offices and information. Shells 06 and 07 house the departures halls, immigration department, control and police as well as 1 café and shops.
