At the historical Agiou Andreou street, at the Limassol city center, the restored Papadakis Warehouses now officially host the Municipal Art Center. The stone built construction, a donation by Stathis Papadakis to the Limassol Municipality, has been restored and formed in a way that will serve as a venue for hosting exhibitions, speeches, presentation and other cultural events.
The overall area of the Arts Center is up to 623 sq.m. Τhese include 2 building complexes – restored warehouses of from the first decades of the 20th century. There have also been 2 additions in the back, eastern side – a shell on the ground floor that forms an entrance-foyer, as well as a basement with services.
The access to the area has been upgraded, in order for people to be able to reach the Center from Agiou Andreou Street. The old warehouses are aof a total €1,4 million worth. Τhe overall cost for the implementation of the project amounts at over €1 million. The project was implemented under the architect Sevina Floridou.
The 2 buildings communicate through an isle that passes over a ditch, used in the previous century for watering the fields and plantations in the area.
