Since 2008, this door in the heart of Limassol has been a gateway to an alternate universe. Hiding behind it is a club that is a treasure trove of decades past, one that has become one of the city's most beloved nighttime destinations.
Though the older generations may find a horde of nostalgic memories at Retro Club Metropole, the younger generations also enjoy dancing their hearts out to the rhythms of disco, pop and rock'n'roll in a venue that appears to defy the laws of time. The music spans the greatest Greek and international hits of the '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s, while the dance floor is always jam-packed with partying revelers.
The club operates on Fridays and Saturdays, and also organizes theme nights dedicated to Greek music from decades past. Other theme parties are also hosted there, as are old school reunions for people seeking a more retro atmosphere for their gathering.
Prior to becoming Retro Club, the space was the ballroom of the Metropole Hotel, located just next to it.
