On a small valley with picturesque views, west of the Limassol district, you will find an impressive church which is considered an architectural and religious monument of the village.

The church is located in the village of Prastio Avdimou, and is dedicated to ‘Panagia Diakinousa’ a name given from the locals of the area, since according to tradition, they saw the Virgin Mary coming out of the church at night-time, walking among the streets of the village.

This three-aisled church is one of the few left of its kind and dates back to the 18th century, with two integrated chapels in its northeast and southeast sides.

Inside the northeastern side, holy water flows from a rock, whilst the remaining murals that resemble saints, as well as the icons of the temple, exude a mystical atmosphere.
