At the western end of Avdimou bay, just 20 minutes from the city of Limassol, there is a small and quiet beach, which has become a beloved summer refuge for families, groups of friends and food lovers.
This small bay, surrounded by wild vegetation, is framed by a makeshift dock upon which a few fishing boats are tethered, and an abandoned mosque on its east side (Avdimou was a mostly Turkish Cypriot village before 1974). The beach is relatively shallow, and the shore is laid out with sand and pebbles.
Upon taking the exit to Avdimou from the Limassol - Paphos motorway, you will cross through an accessible dirt road to get to the beach.
The homonymous tavern is a popular destination for Cypriot cuisine, as well as fresh fish and seafood, at the breezy veranda under a large tree. Both the restaurant area, as well as the sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, offer an all-day escape option, by the sea.
