The name Semiramis, attributed to a queen of the East in ancient times, today marks one of the historical hotels located in the island’s first tourist resort, Platres. The hotel, with its distinct, unique architecture, was built at the beginning of the 20th century with the aim of hosting wealthy guests, most of whom were from the community of expats in Egypt, and who were quite fond of this area.

A miniature replica of a tower, hidden in the pine forest of Platres as if having emerged from a fairy tale, the Semiramis hotel is still, 1 century later, a favorite option for accommodation in the mountains, all year round. Now under the management of a young couple, it carries on the tradition of warm hospitality for which Platres became famous over the decades.

With its refurbishment, the entire interior has been redesigned while the stately exterior remains unchanged. The 10 bedrooms with 2 – 3 beds offer en-suite facilities. Great care has been taken to create a fusion of cutting edge modernity with traditional Cypriot style. The understated elegant simplicity of the Hotel decor consists of a subtle alliance of light colors, natural woods and the pleasing lines of the furniture.

As an all-season destination, the hotel provides beautiful corners for you to enjoy both the pleasant summer and spring weather, as well as autumn and winter. On the terrace under the pine trees, accompanied by the scents of the forest, breakfast and coffee become a wonderful experience, especially with the song of the nightingales as a constant accompaniment during the months of April to July. In the winter time, the hotel is usually blanketed in snowflakes, and the fireplace in the cozy living room becomes an ideal relaxing spot.

The hotel offers a restaurant with tasty culinary options, among which the kleftiko in the traditional wood oven and the trout with vegetable are favorites for many. The restaurant is open for both hotel guests and non-guests.

A special service provided at Semiramis is the private booking of the entire hotel by large groups or families, which allows the quests an exclusive experience of all the rooms and the services of the hotel.
