A hotel built during the early 20th century in Platres is still a beloved destination in the Limassol mountains to this day. At one time it mainly hosted wealthy holidaymakers from a community of expats in Egypt, and thus borrowed its name from Semiramis, an ancient queen of the East.
The building of the hotel is reminiscent of a miniature tower, hidden within the pine forest as if straight out of a fairy tale. In recent years, it has been under the management of a young couple, and while the interior has been completely renovated, the grandeur of the exterior remains unaltered. It offers 10 rooms with 2-3 beds, and large groups of families also have the option of renting out the entire hotel.
The hotel restaurant prepares delicious dishes using local ingredients, such as 'kleftiko' cooked in the traditional wood-burning oven, or baked trout with vegetables. In the winter, the fireplace warms up the cozy lounge area, while the balcony beneath the pine trees is a perfect spot for breakfast and coffee, when the weather permits it.
