Transportation (Bridges, Roads, Ships, Cars)

In a city like Limassol, which has undergone dramatic changes over the course of a century, there are certain streets and locations that have been completely altered, while others remain exactly the same.

From the seafront road until Makarios Avenue, and from the Pilavakis Mansion to the side streets of the Turkish Cypriot community, west of the Medieval Castle, one will come across a number of links between the past and the present of Limassol. And even though the image may have changed dramatically, there is always a name that acts as a reference point to the past. Or if the name has changed, then the image is what awakens the memories.

In every case, this historical walk through time always offers a holistic picture of the city and its people. After all, the journey from then to now has much to do with the journey from now to the future.

* NOTE: The tributes of the Project "History of Limassol" present information that has emerged from historical research thus far. Any new data is embedded into the tributes, once it has been confirmed.
