Exhibition Opening: “Amathus of Cyprus, a city most ancient” @ Limassol Archaeological Museum

The exhibition demonstrates the connection between Limassol and ancient Amathus, underlining the fact that the city’s habitants from Medieval times up until now would refer to Amathus as “Old Limassol”, thus preserving the memory of a most ancient city.
The exhibition covers a large era, from prehistoric times to Christian times. Information collected during a 40 year long systematic archaeological research, allow us now to approach this complex environment of the ancient kingdom of Amathus as a whole.
