Joy and excitement are the feelings which the residents of Kyprounta woke up with on Wednesday morning, December 14th. The village got dressed in white a few days before Christmas, ready to welcome the festive days ahead. The snow, covering Troodos for days, came down today in lower height areas as well (Kyperounta is located at 1200 meters above sea level).
Snow machines took action early in the morning and the snow did not create dangerous conditions on the roads, where traffic moves easily. The temperature in the morning was -1 Celsius degree, while right after the sun came out it reached 5-4 degrees.
The conditions are generally smooth, as the cold wind and sleet that fell in the morning are down. Children engaged in games with the snow since they stayed away from their schools, which closed for the day as students of the surrounding areas could not move by bus in the early morning. The recreation, the games, the splendor of nature and the hospitality of the picturesque Kyperounta tempt anyone to go for a short trip in the area these days.
