VIDEO: The 30-year old Limassolians, who bring the wedding traditions to life!

The 30-year old Michalis Vryoni, teacher by profession, and the 33-year old music therapist, Prodromos Stylianou, are "The Sgartilia" and perhaps the 30-year-olds who've been to the most weddings throughout Cyprus (and not only). Instead to an invitation, they have the violin and the lute, which automatically make them the best company for any Cypriot wedding that wants to keep something of the tradition of this place.

Both of them are Limassol’s countryside enthusiasts, lovers of the simple village life and of the customs that connect the generations together. Above all, however, they are lovers of traditional Cypriot music and festivities and this pushed them, about 5 years ago, into creating of a small traditional music group. Since then they have shared the joy of the wedding party with dozens of new couples.

In doing this, Prodromos and Michalis have managed to become a favorite duet companion for Cypriot weddings, from the dressing rituals of the bride and groom, to the way towards the church and the feast that follows the mystery. Furthermore, they have been invited to play music even in England, Prague, Italy, Israel and Greece. Thus, thanks to 2 young musicians, the Cypriot traditions gain new life and open wings for the future.
