A spectacular photo of the Akrotiri peninsula from space was published a few hours ago on the internet. This is a photo, taken by the British astronaut, Ignazio Magnani, who seems to be attracted quite often by the view in the region, which he often photographs.
The peninsula of Akrotiri stretches down below all green and the image from the space looks like a painting. One can easily discern the endless Lady’s Mile beach, or also known as Aplostra, on the east side of the peninsula, which ends at the port of Limassol.
Particularly impressive is the view of the salt lake in the habitat of Akrotiri, which keeps the characteristic white color of salt, but also some faded shades of blue. The truth is that the British astronaut, showing a preference for Cyprus, made an excellent choice with this photo.
