59 Cypriot wines have been awarded at this year’s Annual Decanter World Wine Awards 2016. Among them were 15 wines made in Limassol wineries be regional varieties. Limassol wines managed to collect 2 silver awards, 11 bronze and 2 recommendations in total of 1 gold award, 12 silver, 31 bronze and 15 recommendations for the 59 distinguished wines in Cyprus.

The judges taste wines individually. They know the region, style and price bracket, but they are not aware of who produced the wine or the brand name. They then compare notes on the wine and decide together on each wine’s medal. Medal categories correspond to the 100-point scoring system used by Decanter and many top wine critics around the world.
