The jasmine perfume was the one people would breathe for decades on their walks at Limassol’s neighborhoods. Gardens and balconies were surrounded by these fine, white flowers and the relaxing, spring and summer evenings were marked by the waves of their distinct smell.
The Cyprus Sustainability Institution brings back this sensation, through the works of the Conference co-organized with the CUT and the European Commission delegation in Cyprus. “Limassol of the jasmines” is a vision that wants to see the special beauty and scent of the flower in every household, organization and public area. The aim is for everyone to come across jasmine plants in every area Limassol – wide, from the blocks to the tourist attractions.
The great music composer of Limassol, Marios Tokas, was inspired by the “evening that smells of jasmine”, while the local music tradition also sings for decades now the “jasmine at your door”. This initiative is expected to renew the mark of this beautiful flower and turn it into a landmark for the beautiful walks and the romantic nights in the city.
The conference takes place at the CUT on May 4th, 16:00 – 19:30.
