Times Higher Education has once again revealed the Best Small Universities across the globe. The Cyprus University of Technology managed to be among the best 20 small Universities, along with other notable Universities from Europe, America and Asia.

To be eligible for the rankings, universities must appear in Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings 2016-17 with the best 500 universities, teach more than four subjects, and have fewer than 5,000 students. The Cyprus Univerity of Technology now hosts 3012 students, a number very close to the average of all smaller universities in the world. According to Times, it was found that students who studied in smaller places were generally more satisfied with the teaching they received.

Talking to the students, Times found that student preferred smaller classes, closer relationships with teachers and the greater sense of community that clinched it for them. Those students who studied at small universities based in larger cities said that they enjoyed the perks of a more intimate campus at the same time as enjoying the hustle and bustle of busy metropolitan life. Loucas Gregoriou, a students in the CUT, mentioned that being a student at CUT provided him with a lot of resources in multiple aspects to progress and choose his next educational destination.
