Quality awards for wine, zivania and sweets made in Limassol

Producers and professionals of Cypriot gastronomy were awarded in 10 categories by the institution of "Gastronomos Quality Awards". During the 3rd awards ceremony, Zampartas winery, Tsiakkas winery and the traditional sweets made in Kilani village in Limassol were awarded for 2016 in the categories of drinks and bakery/confectionery.

For the "Drinks" award, a category that is a distinctive part of the tourist product of Cyprus, the committee chose to try Cypriot wines from the ancient variety of the Cyprus vineyard, xynisteri, and the traditional spirit, zivania. The prize for the best xynisteri was awarded to the «Single Vineyard» by Zampartas winery, while Tsiakkas winery received the prize for the aged zivania.

In the category of Bakery/Confectionery the traditional sweet "glytzista" of the Women's Cultural Association in Kilani was awarded. This kind of pastry is a pride for the residents and the expats of the village. Apart from the unique flavor that offers, the traditional sweet declares the festive mood and expresses the hospitality of the village people.
