Over 1 month after the continuous snowfall, winter is not only not declining, but remains fierce. The widespread picture on the mountains is the amount of white in which everything else is lost: houses, rocks, roads, trees, and even people.
The whole forest of Troodos seems to have sunk into the snow layers which have been gathering for weeks and are being constantly renewed. There, indeed, where access for cars and people is difficult or even prohibited, snow remains absolute ruler.
Despite the cold, this image shows the power of nature. The forest lost under tons of snow, whether it may look scary or idyllic in our eyes, it has been long preparing for this. For the rich flora and fauna of the area, snow is vital in order to resume life normally after the winter ends. And this is probably the most beautiful thought we can make, while enjoying this fairy tale scenery.
