The first Chinese Cultural Festival in Cyprus had a spectacular first in Limassol, in an evening full of art, music, cents and flavors from the Far East. The Chinese Ambassador in Cyprus, the Limassol Mayor and the Presidents of the House of Representatives were present at the official opening of the festival, underlining that this first event is an opportunity for a better acquaintance and collaboration between the 2 people.
The Old Port area, where the 3-day event takes place, was full of people. The guests had the opportunity to taste authentic Chinese cuisine dishes by some of the best chefs in China, drink aromatic Chinese tea, observe unique dough sculptures, admire exquisite Chinese porcelain art pieces with traditional decoration and watch a spectacular artistic program with dancers and musicians performing for the first time in Cyprus.
Thousands of people attended the first evening of the event, coming from Cyprus, China, or people abroad being in Limassol as tourists, enjoying the experience of getting in touch with the Chinese culture. The festival, which aims to become an institution for the city, is also a reminder of the twinning relationships between Limassol and one of the 4 ancient cities of the Imperial China, Nanjing, while it creates prospects for even closer relations between the 2 cities.
The festival will continue with the same variety of events until Sunday, 17/9/2017. Check out more information here.
