PHOTOS: This is how Russians in Limassol celebrated Christmas

Almost 2 weeks after the December 25th, as set by the Gregorian calendar, the Russians living in Limassol attended the liturgy of the Christmas celebration. In the evening of the 6th to 7th of January in the Chapel of Christ the Philanthropist in Zakaki, the Limassol Bishop Athanasios performed as head of the vigil that took place with the collaboration of Georgios Vindiakin.

In Zakaki, which is predominantly used for the operations of the Russian-speaking Orthodox Christians of Limassol, a large number of devoted people who follow the dogma attended the ritual. Another church in Mesa Yitonia, also hosted the Holy Ceremony of Christmas according to the old calendar, with the attendance of Greek Cypriots who follow this dating.

At the end of the vigil, the Limassol Bishop addressed a short greeting. On his side, the vicar of the church Fr. George Vindiakin, thanked the Bishop on behalf of all Russian-speaking believers living in Limassol, for his presence and participation in the Holy Ceremony of Christmas.
