The works on the Old Port street are progressing rapidly. The image of the street changes slowly - slowly and 1 of the drastic changes that was expected has occurred around noon on March 22nd.
The roundabout that was a very distinctive feature of the area, was removed permanently, while with this opportunity, the rich foliage of the tree that spread its branches throughout the roundabout was also trimmed. The change is more than noticeable, since it is now possible for one to see from the Castle Square towards the port and vice versa.
The tree will not be removed, of course, but it will be accompanied by a triangular island, which will serve for the pedestrians to cross from the Castle to the Old Port and vice versa. On the island, traffic lights will also be placed to facilitate pedestrians. The trimming, of course, revealed other signs, too, indicating the attractions of the area, which were not seen for years.
