PHOTOS: A change at Heroes Square is on the way!

Heroes Square has been through a lot of changes. From glory to decline and to being forgotten and then into its revival, it never stopped being a meeting place and an entertainment area, for almost 1 century now. For the past around 10 years, it has been a part of the energetic university community of the city and there have been consecutive changes since.

Today, apart from the CUT buildings, the square welcomes new venues one after another, which come to propose a variety of relaxation and entertainment options. The square that has been stigmatized for quite some time as a red light district, has made a 180 ° turn and is strongly evolving in its new direction.

This is a belief that all the shop owners in the area share, while the taste and imagination that they put in their work, show their trust in the change they have been dreaming of. This is how Cyclos music stage and Rote Club came up, providing music entertainment options from Greek selections to selections of the international house music scene, the brand new Theta restaurant, with its healthy eating and gluten / dairy free cuisine, the lounge vibes and the special cocktails at Madame.

This is how so many other places made their appearance the past few years, inviting people of all ages and tastes in the area, such as Oro Club, Art Studio 55, the familiar meze taverns and the venues that are about to make a fresh start, such as Gostijo restaurant and the CUT’s coffee shop, Zappio.

The greatest changes are the ones happening step by step, piece by piece, in a collective effort. Thus, fresh air has begun to blow in the square, with the establishment of the University in the area, with the impressive update of Rialto’s events and the annual dates with the arts, and things keep evolving in this direction. All changes promise the same thing: better things are on the way.
