In April 2017 the work on the road alongside the Limassol Port will proceed, which is expected to change significantly the image of the area and the traffic towards and from the port.
The contract with CYBARCO, the company that will undertake the project, was signed on March 3rd and will cost €14.632.300 (+VAT.). The construction work is expected to start in April and be completed in 24 months. There will be 2 lanes created for each direction of the road, as well as a conduit for channeling rain water to the sea, in order to eliminate the problem with standing water in the region.
The road will connect with the new perpendicular road that is constructed at the Limassol Hospital bridge and will offer an easy and fast way out for laden vehicles and buses, tourist or others. Furthermore, providing a way out for the vehicles, the road that reaches up to the east side of the harbor, where the new passengers hall is built, will significantly defuse the traffic created in the city.
