On the first Saturday of December, Limassol will be lighting up its Christmas tree in the city center, signaling for the countdown to the days of Christmas and New Year’s Eve. On the occasion of the lighting, there will be a wonderful setting, with activities for adults and kids at Aneksartisias street.
Along with the music of the Municipal Philharmonic Band of Limassol, parading down to Aneksartisias street, and the songs of “Diastasis” children’s choir, from early in the afternoon, the entire area gets into the mood for the season. Magic shows, jugglers, stilts and Christmas mascots will be part of the event, too.
The lighting of the Christmas tree will take place on December 2nd at 6 pm, while the children’s Christmas arts and crafts workshops will be open for children to draw, create crafts and write their letters to Santa during 5 pm – 9 pm. Santa’s decorated chariot will arrive at Grigoris Afxentiou Square escorted by the elves, starting at Pentadromos area, to give presents to the children.
