Preparations for the Limassol Carnival are into a feverish pace, just 1 month before the big carnival parade. The municipal services in coordination with all main actors and teams are a breath away from the final touches.
The figures and chariots framing the carnival and giving the tone of the celebration are getting ready and polished, while the chariots are being properly prepared to form the backbone of the parade. In the warehouse of the municipality there are both new and older constructions, some of which even connect the Limassol Carnival with the history of Patras Carnival, coming from the great carnival of Greek city.
In this year's carnival, 116 thematic groups will be participating, while the presence of the chariot of the Limassol Municipality and the Serenaders, trademark of the celebrations, is a given. The program of this year's event starts, as always, on Pancake Day, February 16th, and in the end comes the big parade on February 26th.
