A study on behalf of the Limassol Municipality, which will present a strategic plan for the administration of Fytidio Sports Center GSO, is in process, in order to be presented to the Cyprus Sports Organization by the Municipality. The place, which has been left without any proper usage for years, has passed under the authority of the Limassol Municipality, after an agreement with the CSO.

The study in progress is looking for ways to turn GSO into an area that will showcase its historical value, while preserving the character of a sports center. Among the options under investigation are the foundation of a sports museum, the expansion of the sports facilities and the creation of opportunities for the citizens to be able to benefit on a daily basis with exercising.

Through the usage of the area, the Limassol Municipality is looking for ways to build a more meaningful connection between the GSO and the rest of the exercising, sports and recreation facilities at the seafront park. The study will result to a first image of the prospects in the area within this coming June, while, according to the Municipal Authorities, this entire effort will lead to some visible results by the beginning of 2018.
