French sailors ''flooded'' the Limassol city center

Did you happen to hear any French during the past weekend? If not, it is probably because you haven’t been around the Limassol city center or seafront. Because if you had been out you couldn’t have missed the young men crowds speaking the language of Charles de Gaulle.

The French aircraft carrier ship, which participates in the warfare against Islamic State, comes and goes quite often and stays in the Limassol port, as agreed between Cyprus and France. These circumstances offered the opportunity to the French to get acquainted with the city.

Thousands of sailors were seen strolling around along the seafront, as well as in the numerous coffee shops, bars and restaurants of the old town. Making use of their chance to experience the vivid color and the vibrant Limassol nightlife, the young French men have been a significant boost for local shops and businesses.

Charles de Gaulle, the largest aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean, was hosted in the Limassol port for the 2nd time in 30 days and stayed for about 1 week.
