"As a child I thought my obvious duty was to provide assistance to my suffering fellow men." This is what Spyros Archimedes says, a graduate student in Science and Data Engineering of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Informatics of the Cyprus University of Technology.
This... young Archimedes is the man who created, for the account of «Papillon Foundation», a digital application, through which you can see pictures of the work of the non-profit organization, check out their official pages on social networks like Facebook, but also make donations through a bank account in the app.
Spyros voluntarily created this application, utilizing the scientific knowledge he has acquired through his studies, to contribute to the work of the organization operating in South Africa. The organization, with the amounts donated to it, covers the children’s basic needs, such as clothing, toys, food, furniture, household appliances and more. Also, it trains them in the use of computers, since it recently closed a major agreement for cooperation with the Microsoft giant.
Thus, in his own way, the young scientist, becomes part of the effort to improve the lives of orphans and destitute children. The app is available at the "Google Play Store" and one can download it for free on mobile devices searching with the name "Papillon Foundation".
