The carnival may be a landmark for the Limassol city, but the entire district does share the same traditions, too. In the village of Agros, the Youth Center makes sure to drift, those who will find themselves out of town for the carnival weekend, along to its own carnival spree for the past 15 years.
Young people in Agros have repeatedly proved that they know what partying and entertainment are all about, by setting up a wild, colorful and crazy festival throughout the village on the Sunday of carnival. Hundreds are getting out in the picturesque streets with the most inconceivable disguises, with makeshift chariots on tractors, cars and trucks, dancing until nightfall.
The preparations start in the morning of the same day in the center of Agros village, where until 3 pm all masquerades, of all ages are gathered, with their chariots. In the area the community’s train is also available for carnival rides. The procession starts at 3 and it goes around all of the village’s streets, lifting everyone up until it ends at nightfall, when the cold of the mountains comes along. The evening continues with festivities and appetizers, since the organizers ensure that they treat everyone involved.
