Broadway and New York wind blows in Limassol with West Side Story!

The legendary play, describing the conflict of young people gangs with different origins, on the streets of New York in 1950, will be hosted on stage on multifunction hall of Heritage Private School. With lots of music, singing and dancing, the city gets into the rhythms of Broadway, thanks to the talent of the young artists of the school.

The story of 2 young lovers from opposite worlds was first performed on stage in 1957, while global success came in 1961 with the transfer of the story on the synonymous film, West Side Story. The film was nominated for 11 Oscars and received 10, of which one was for the supporting leading role of the Greek-American, George Chakiris, in the role of Bernardo.

Maria from Puerto Rico and Tony from the US meet at some party, fall in love immediately, but are forced to overcome the social barriers that result from their origin and their surroundings. Gangs, police chase, suspense and adventure blend with favorite tunes, such as “I feel pretty” and "America". For 3 nights the spectacular production invites the audience in Limassol to live musical moments on the first weekend of March.
