With this in mind, Costas, the owner of the place, decided to bring something from the good "old fashioned" flirting manners when no mobile phones existed, nor Facebook or digital dating applications. For about 3 months, those looking for a companion, a romantic story or even their other half, regularly meet in the Boite, in an atmosphere that encourages communication and an effective and pleasant acquaintance between people, who without fear, but with passion, openly declare that they seek for a partner.

"They have already been 2-3 couples coming out of these meetings," said Costas. The Single Nights attract 60-70 people at a time, usually aged 40+. "I had to show some people out, because they seemed to have come for another purpose, or I knew that they were not single," says the organizer, who stresses that these evenings are exclusively meant for "singles and separated." "We had a man 75 years old coming" Costas said, confessing that he has thought to organize special evenings for people 65+, since it seems that there is a need for communication and companionship at these ages, but they don’t really fit with the rest.

The process is relatively simple: mobile phones aside, the participants fill in cards with their information and the organizer ensures that people have the opportunity through a rotation of inter-personal discussions to get to know each other and recognize those they communicate best with or / and attract them. "Yes, there is awkwardness in the beginning," says Costas, "but eventually they created large groups and everyone can talk comfortably with each other." After 3 successful meetings, the Boite is getting ready now for a special evening for singles on February 14th, creating a different romantic setting, not for existing couples, but for those who are about to be born.
