An exhibition with 400 historic card postal of a French soldier from the World War I

The month of March has been established as the month of Francophonie and CUT celebrates the fact, by hosting the Card Postal exhibition ‘Exhibition to East: A card postal collection of Auguste Poisson: World War I’.

The collection consists of 400 card postal of the French soldier Auguste Poisson. Poisson took part to the war exhibition in East which commenced from France and ended up in Saloniki, there where he stayed until the end of the war. The letters or postcards, which are known as ‘card postal’, they constituted the way that the soldiers communicated with their families during the war, and also it was a way of spreading all the important events of the era.

Through the card postal, the visitors will be able to see the journey of Auguste Poisson from France to Saloniki. The exhibition will last the whole March and it will be hosted in the Building of Deanery.

The exhibition will be open for the public, Monday-Friday 8:30-14:30 and every Wednesday 8:30-18:00.
