Changes are expected at the traditional commercial center of Limassol in the coming months, as the area is going to attract students. Former Luxor hostel, which operated for several past decades as a low cost place for visitors to stay in the city, is being renovated in order to have a new use.
The landmark building will become a complex with studio type apartments, mainly for rent by the CUT students. The complex will consist of about 10 apartments, which, apart from a solution to the housing problem for thousands of the city’s students, can also represent a change in the area.
According to the authorities, lately several investors have been showing interest in this area, looking and asking to purchase and use old buildings. Besides, other buildings, too, on Agiou Andreou street are going through some renovation works and their new use is expected to attract people to the area.
