With an updated setting, Limassol is getting ready for Pancake Day (Tsiknopempti) on Tursday, 8/2/2018, and the first big celebration of this year’s carnival. Apart from music, dancing and barbecues all over the city center, there is a spectacular acrobatic show scheduled for the day, too.

The feast will begin at 11 am with live music and tasty treats at the Cyprus Corporate Bank (Gladstonos Street), the National Bank (Gladstonos Street) and the Bank of Cyprus (Agiou Andreou Street). A 5.30 pm, Grigoris Afxentiou Square (District Administration building) will come to life with music and dancing in Latin beats. There, a team of aerial acrobats will appear to perform a show that will make this year’s events a bit more special.

A 7.00 pm, the Carnival queen and king will enter the city on a chariot, accompanied by the chearleaders, the serenaders, the Batukinio percussion group and many people. The parade will start at Grigoris Afxentiou Square and end at Heroes Square, with a party under the beats of the band Ritmo di Carnaval.
