While the peak of the Troodos Mountains is always the first to welcome the winter snow, the landscape of a winter wonderland is one that is also shared by some of the most beautiful mountain villages of the Limassol countryside. Spread across the mountain slopes, within a rich forest plantation, villages such as Kyperounda, Agros, Pelendri, Chandria, Lemythou, Platres and Prodromos have once again been dressed in pure white.

These villages, which are located approximately half an hour from the city of Limassol, at an altitude of around 900 – 1000 meters, are used to the sight of such snowfall. In the case of Prodromos village, it is an even more common occurrence, as the village is situated at an altitude of 1400 meters and experiences the lowest temperatures of any other community.

Traditional stonebuilt houses, beautiful churches, vast vineyards and forested slopes have all been blanketed by freshly fallen snow, creating a truly magical spectacle as every detail of this special scenery has become artfully adorned with a veil of white.
