Villages, hills and vineyards in Limassol covered in fluffy snow

After several consecutive days of snowfall, the mountains of Limassol are dressed in the larger part in white. As reported by weatherman Erick Kitas, since Monday noon snow started falling in areas with an altitude of 600 meters, while snow layered in areas with altitude of 800-900 meters and more.

Snow height reached 5-10 cm at 1200 meters of altitude and more and 0 – 5 cm from 800 to 1200 meters of altitude. Vineyards in Limassol district are also covered with snow and from their branches are now hanging snowflakes instead of grapes. According to the weather predictions, the temperature will keep falling during the next days, while snowfall will keep on, in various areas until the end of the year.

The images coming from villages such as Chandria, Agros, Kyperounta, Pelendri, Odou, Sykopetra, Pitsilia area and of course Platres show off the impeccable beauty of the mountains. Cold is really harsh, but the snow can be beneficial for the countryside, especially in agricultural areas, either with vineyards or other products.
