VIDEO: Rumbling rivers on Troodos with water coming down!

The snow certainly did not melt yet on Troodos, but lots of rain fell and damped the soil on the slopes of the mountain. The mountain areas of Limassol already feel the relief that comes along with the water descending from the streams and rivers that were left dry for months. For the forest of Troodos, the varieties of flora and fauna, this water is of vital importance and the image of it can only bring feelings of joy.

Although Cyprus is famous for its summer, the long drought has caused problems in the past few years. Rain and snow are much needed to enrich the underground water layers and the rivers that feed the forest areas, crops, and the residents of the island themselves. Apart from the undeniable usefulness, however, the raging water that fills the rivers this season, creates a beautiful landscape that invites us to relax listening to the hum of the flow.

This morning video from the Troodos region shows that the river, which on a lower point branches out to the river Garyllis of Limassol and river Karkotis in Nicosia, rolls now with plenty of water, enough to fill us with positive feelings for the year that begins shortly.
