VIDEO + PHOTOS: Limassol's graffiti artists cleaned the classic buildings' walls in the city center!

The much misunderstood street art did oppose to the fables that connect it with visual disturbance and distraction, in the most obvious way. The organizers of Street Life Festival, people who live and work in the old city center, dedicated 2 whole days to clean up the walls of the classic buildings that have been victims of vandalism.

On the occasion of the preparations for the 10th Street Life Festival, a team of decisive Limassolians, among whom the graffiti artists who create some very impressive murals every year, wanted to swipe away all those elements that make the city’s historic neighborhood uglier. With a lot of effort, but with a lot of enthusiasm and dedication, too, they cleaned the scribbles of paint or spray that made the old buildings look dirty.

To succeed their goal, they worked for 2 whole days, proving that street art needs a city bright and tidy to be properly showcased. Many may identify in their mind the scribbles and building vandalism with the graffiti artists, but this initiative sure did send a clear message.
