The stolen seat - sculpture restored and back to the seaside 6 months later!

Hopes of finding 1 of the 3 sculpture – chairs, donated to the Municipality of Limassol by the sculptor Costas Ioannides, which disappeared from the Limassol seaside park one night in October 2016, were quite few. The sculpture was nowhere to be found for about 6 months, depriving children that visited the dock with their parents, of their favorite seat - game.

The sculpture was located eventually on March 20th 2017, when a citizen told the radio station of Limassol, Kanali 6, that some people tried to sell this sculpture to him. Although the seat was altered, painted black, the man, to whom the robbers wanted to sell, recognized it. He did not accept to be part of the transaction, but the would-be sellers of the sculpture left it in his yard.

Although the sculpture has been treated badly, the creator, Costas Ioannides, seemed very happy and grateful for its retrieval. He is confident that the sculpture can be perfectly restored in its original form and he promises that it will soon return to its place in the seaside park, to be again available to children - and not only - that were looking for it.
