The waterfall of Millomeris, cousin of Caledonia Waterfalls, is also formed by the Krios river waters and is also hidden in a lovely nature trail near Platres. These days, the waterfall’s view is more impressive than in any other season. With water coming down plenty and rushing through the mountains, a visit there regenerates your soul completely.
To find the waterfall you would need to go into the trail for about 1 kilometer from the starting point, following a fairly steep path. The waterfall can also be reached by car through dirt road, skipping the trail. Of course, one can also get an idea from this impressive video, in which the roar of the water that falls covers any other sound in the area.
The waterfall is named by the words “millos”, which in the Cypriot dialect means wet, and the word “meros”, which means place. The water flow from Krios river made the place humid and cool, so they named the waterfall Millomeris. The cascade of water falls from a height of 15 meters, while the passage of the river from the area has created a landscape of unique natural beauty.
