The ship about to conduct research at the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus is at the Limassol port

Ramform Hyperion, a seismic research vessel of modern technology, arrived at the Limassol Port, in order to proceed with sea research activity at the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Cyprus.

The newly constructed vessel arrived in the island straight from the Mitsubishi shipyard, in Nagasaki, Japan, and it is expected to conduct 3-dimension seismic research within the Exclusive Zone of Cyprus, until the mid – August. The research plans concern the sea area of 7.000 square kilometers, which includes the pieces 2, 3, 8, and 9, which have been allotted to the Italian company ENI, and parts of the pieces 6, 7, 11 and 12.

The Cyprus Republic has previously published a Navtex announcement with the particular coordinates of the ship’s activities. According to the Navtex announcement, the ship carries 14 seismic cables, 10 kilometers long, followed by support boats.
