The most amazing museums in Limassol share their secrets for free!

Limassol will celebrate the International Museum day with free entrance to the museums of the city. The program of events is rich and attractive for people of all ages. In the context of this year's anniversary, guided tours, exhibitions, educational and artistic events are planned by 6 museums participating in the annual celebrations.

The Limassol District Archaeological Museum has organized scheduled tours to the exhibition "Amathus, the ancient city of Cyprus" on 21/5 at 10 am and a poetic meeting titled "Poetry and Archaeology. Cypriot Poets recite" on 24/5 at 7 pm. Educational programs for Primary School students are prepared by the Medieval Museum of Cyprus and the Education Museum in Vasa Kilaniou on 19/5 at 9 am and 10:30 am, for a retrospect at the history and culture of Cyprus.

On Saturday 20/5, 2 guided tours at 10 am and 3:30 pm, are planned by the Cyprus Medical Museum, where you will have the chance to learn about the development of Medicine in Cyprus since 1920. Also, on Sunday, at 10 am, the Cyprus Theatre Museum and the Pattichio Municipal Museum – Historic Archive – Centre of Studies of Limassol organize “A morning walk at the museums”. Of particular interest is the guided tour to the exhibition titled "Mythology" at the Hambis Printmaking Museum in Platanisteia on 20/5 (12 pm and 3 pm), 21/5 (11 am) and 27/5 (11 am) with which the celebrations for the anniversary in Limassol come to an end. 

It is worth mentioning that this year's theme "Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums", is intended to promote museums as transmitters of social peace.
