The lights are on, the city is decorated and the countdown to the most glorious celebration of the year has officially began. Streets, squares, covered and open areas hosted last weekend thousands of smiling faces of all ages, who brought a different kind of warmth and a special vibe in Limassol.

For over 48 hours the city center - and beyond - was bursting of life, songs, laughter, action and fun. After the illuminations had already taken place in Limassol Marina on 20/11, the Limassol Municipality Christmas tree was next lit on with a spectacular ceremony on 26/11. From early in the afternoon on Saturday, the feast along Aneksartisias street was beautifully linked to the celebration for the official opening of Pattichio Municipal Theatre on Friday night.

The celebration continued on Sunday with the illuminations of the Lanitis Carob Mill. The area around the Limassol castle was flooded by people, while little children were the first to enjoy the most than anyone. Along with the children, adults let go to enjoy these carefree and bright moments.

With Santa Claus on the lead role, with carols and songs, gifts and decorations, games and laughter the city had the best begining for this trip to the grear celebration. And, wonderful never the less, this was merely the beginning …
