The architects of The Oval design a tower that will connect Agiou Andreou street with the seafront!

Feverish preparations for the architects of The Oval, a conjunction of Tom Wight of the WKK firm, the designers of the Burj al Arab in Dubai, and the local architect firm, Armeftis Associates Ltd, for an iconic project for the western end of the Limassol seafront. The new project by Askanis Group aims to become the liaison – literally and actually – between a most prestigious and a rather forgotten area in the city.

The former Galatariotis headquarters in Ayiou Andreou street and the area opposite this property, at the seafront, will host a mixed development by Askanis Group. The project will be a tower connecting the seafront park with the old commercial center, through a hanging pedestrians’ bridge, thus creating immediate access to a forgotten corner of the city.

Thus, Agiou Andreou will host a large residential and commercial development, where luxurious apartments will coexist with elegant restaurants and cafes, which are expected to rejuvenate the area. With this new development being a new attraction, the bridge will serve as a connection between Agiou Andreou, as well as the whole area of Aneksartisias and Heroon Square, with the sea side. “We do not wish to build a wall at the seafront”, mentioned Christiana Askanis, on behalf of the company, “rather to create access.”
