PHOTOS: The day when Aneksartisias Street felt like Ledras street!

April found Aneksartisias Street in a different mood. The most central spot in the city, a well-known destination for walks, shopping and meetings for coffee, has borrowed something from the feel of the famous pedestrian street of Ledras in Nicosia.

After a decision for turning this commercial street into a walkway during the last Sunday before Easter, many chose to visit the city center on the day. With the shops remaining open from early in the morning until late at night, people would combine their usual walk for coffee with friends and family, with an opportunity for Easter shopping.

The entire area turned into a pedestrian street, in order to attract people at the city’s commercial center, after a decision of the Limassol Municipality. In fact, there have been thoughts for making this event an annual date just before the Easter festivities, in a similar way that this applies during Christmas and the New Year’s.

The train of the Limassol Municiplaity, as well as a stilt walker and games were became the options for children’s entertainment at Aneksartisias street on the day.
