Anastasis is one of the youngest members of the community that inhabits the habitat of Akrotiri. Having made his first steps just a few months ago, the little donkey is among the "new arrivals" in a region that is trying to sustain the balance of biodiversity.
There, along with herds of cows, hundreds of bird species, rare plants that continue to sprout near the swamp, as well as people from the surrounding villages that coexist with creatures of the habitat, Anastasis and the other donkeys in the meadow are the hope of Akrotiri. The Darwin Plus program, implemented within 2 years now in the habitat, aims to maintain and increase the herds that help in the life cycle that takes place there.
The return of species that complement the chain of life in the habitat, as well as the involvement of local people with farming and grazing, have been an important part of project's implementation. Thus, Anastasis, like all creatures that find their place there, are small daily miracles of Nature.
