Marco Polo: The 2 towers replacing the Golden Arches!

The Golden Arches hotel in Amathus area is now history, since 2 modern high rise buildings have been designed to take its place. The project is a mixed-use development in the area, funded by foreign investors.

The building has been designed by the PPA Architects architectural firm, which has also undertaken important buildings, such as the Limassol Pearl and i-Home. The high-rise Marco Polo project is characterized by the contrast between the glass façades and the flowing geometry of the balconies, offering 180ο panoramic views across the horizon.

Comprising of 2 residential tower blocks, the project is designed around a public square, facing the main road and containing retail and food and beverages outlets. The master plan generates an extensive private park to the rear, richly landscaped and containing a swimming pool complex and pavilions within Mediterranean gardens. The complex is situated right next to the sight of Ancient Amathus and, according to the Department of Antiquities, the design had to adapt to the specifications of the area, in order not to disturb important archaeological findings.
