'Limassol by Varouj' is authentic, black and white and nostalgic…

Limassol honors the historic photographer, Varouj Voskeritchian, whose work and name have been connected to the history of the city. Children, grandchildren, friends, co-citizens and admirers of the photographer were present at the opening of the photo exhibition in the Limassol Municipality Hall on Friday December 2nd.

Through the images of a time gone by, the evolution of the city and the photographic art of Varouj Voskeritchian itself is depicted. The photographer, who died in 2006 in the age of 86, has undoubtedly a central role in the history of the city thanks to his contribution in its documentation.

In a nostalgic and emotional atmosphere Limassolians let themselves remember and discover their city, the way the photo lense has captured it decades ago. The opening of the exhibition included a music performance as well, with nostalgic melodies of the previous century and a special guest, the well-known performer Alexia.

The exhibition will remain open until Saturday 10/12. Information about the opening hours can be found in All About Limassol agenda.

The photos are sourced from the tribute Facebook page that has been created to honor the photographer.
