Floating cinema experience offered by the 6th International Short Film Festival

The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, is offering the original and one of a kind experience of a floating cinema. On Thursday 20/10, at 22:30, a bus will drive the audience from Rialto theatre to the Old Port, where they will board a boat, on which they will have a very unique movie experience.

The short films are part of the program entitled as “Understanding Reality.”These clips have been filmed by teenage refugees from either Lebanon, Syria, or from unprivileged backgrounds. The filming of these clips was completed in workshops where the participants are helped to defeat issues regarding creativity and personal expression. This helps them develop a better understanding of the circumstances around them.

Lebanese social therapist, Sabine Shoucair, will present the festival with Tahar Houchi. Tahar is the artistic director of FIFOG (Festival International Du Film Oriental de Genève) and it is the company with which the International Short Film Festival has collaborated with for this event.

There will be both Greek and English subtitles. The UN Refugee Agency is supporting the event. The entrance is free however there is limited seating on board. For further info contact Rialto theatre at 77 77 77 45.
