Cyprus high on the list with countries publishing the most powerful passports

The passport issued by the Republic of Cyprus is among those passports that give many possibilities and opportunities to their holders. This results from the annual survey carried out, which records the limitations and freedom of movement that passport holders from countries around the world enjoy. The Passport Index classifies passports according to the number of countries that provide access without requiring a visa.

The Cypriot passport is ranked on the 13th place among the most powerful passports in the world. In particular, the holders of the passport of the Republic have free access to 146 countries without being subject to visa limitations. The majority of European countries have passports which, like the Cypriot ones, are listed among the strongest in the world. The Greek passport, for example, takes the 7th place on the list of global rankings, with free access to 152 countries.

The strongest passports worldwide are now held by German and Swedish nationals, which have taken the 1st and 2nd place in the Passport Index list, ensuring free access to 158 and 157 countries respectively. At the bottom of the list are Syria (access in 31 countries), Somalia (access in 31 countries), Iraq (access in 29 countries), Pakistan (access in 27 countries), and Afghanistan (access in 24 countries).
