'To katoi' restaurant: A space that references to the Medieval traditions in Limassol!

This is the picturesque scenery one must walk through to reach ‘To Katoi,’ one of the most special venues of the beautiful village of Omodos.  It is a restaurant that carries the tradition of several centuries, offering something more than just a menu that exalts the Cypriot and Greek cuisine.

To Katoi is a few steps away from the medieval wine press, which now operates as a museum. The restaurant itself is housed in an old building, with architecture similar to the one of the wine press building. The large arches of its dining area, the carved stones on the walls and the old fireplace create a traditional atmosphere, while the décor signifies the medieval heritage of the village.

The cellar is even more unique, presumably constructed approximately 500 years ago, and also hosts guests who wish to dine in a space that naturally stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter, once the heat of the fireplace is added.

This environment is a perfect fit for the culinary experience offered by the restaurant. A large range of creative options, based on Greek and Cypriot cuisine, aim to pleasantly surprise guests. Such dishes as moussaka bites, orzo with wild mushrooms, beetroot salad with caramelized walnuts and yogurt sauce, as well as handmade desserts, such as the ‘anari’ cheese cake, have become beloved dishes of many.
